The Naval Academy is still one of our favorite spots for wedding photography in Annapolis. It is a classic space for gorgeous wedding photos and classic never gets old! The day was planned by Jan Wise, who owns Going to the Chapel and she nailed the couples vision. The wedding was stunning and classic…just what they wanted! We couldn’t be happier for them.
Meredith and Jordan’s Naval Academy Club wedding was a winter showstopper coordinated by Wedding Savvy Wedding Consultants! The bride wore her hair, done by Dorsey Beauty, in a classic chignon, pinned up with a floral crystal pendant. Around her neck Meredith wore pearls, a simple and elegant statement. Her fit and flare dress designed by, Matthew Christopher and purchased at Bridals By Lori, had off the shoulder sleeves, and an open back leading down to a beautiful train. […]
If we had to pick one word to describe Katelyn & Michael’s wonderful wedding, it would be romantic! The couple held their ceremony at the United States Naval Academy Chapel and the love emanating from them as they recited their vows was visible to all. As they held hands and looked into each other’s eyes, Katelyn just couldn’t stop smiling at her new husband. Later, the bride and groom would walk through the gardens of the William Paca House & Gardens and take their seats for the wedding reception – we asked Katelyn about that moment and she says that looking out into the gardens with her new husband sitting next to her and all of their closest family and friends around them was the most beautiful moment of her life! The USNA traditions with the old Hollywood vibe had us drooling over all the photo ops for Caroline and Matt! Let’s start with the versatile yet stylish wedding dress! Its delicate and beautiful lace jacket was worn over the silk ball gown to emulate a Grace Kelly/Kate Middleton look. It was modern yet classic all in one! And then there was the beautiful antique car paired with the grand architecture of the Westin. It created a scene
Lise and John’s Naval Academy wedding was a little different than most – in part due to the amazing fog which created a dreamy atmosphere for their shoot. As if the USNA couldn’t be any more of a beautiful location, the soft light and the haze really upped the ante; the vibe was totally otherworldly in the best of ways. The creamy hues of the academy walls, Lise’s wedding dress and bouquet created a cohesive color palette which seemed to unify everything. One of our favorite things about Lise and John was their complete comfort around one another and the realness of their connection. While they look incredible during posed shots, the real magic was caught in the candid moments in-between. Congratulations to John and Lise!
An early spring wedding at the United States Naval Academy makes for some pretty beautiful wedding photos. They spent the day enjoying themselves and you could tell by their genuine happiness that they are surrounded by amazing family and friends. We wish them all the happiness in the world! Congratulations Bridget and Joel.
Here we are — already a full week into our 2016 journey and couldn’t be any more excited about what the year ahead has in store for us. 2015 was seriously amazing and we want to take some time to reflect back on what ended up being our best year ever for wedding photography. We had the opportunity to meet so many incredible couples, shoot in a diverse range of enchanting venues (from ballrooms to barns!) and do a lot of really unique things with our work which resulted in countless memorable moments. We are so grateful to have gotten the chance to form bonds and work with each of our couples + amazing vendors! Having them trust in our creative vision and allow us share and capture their most important memories and details is so special to us. Below we’ve selected a small sampling of some of our favorite wedding day moments of 2015. […]
“Well, you can’t have a dream and cut it to fit / But when I saw you I knew we’d go together/ Like a wink and a smile” – Harry Connick Jr.
The lines to this love song that John first played for Maggie couldn’t be any more appropriate in light of the tale to how they first met! We opened our 2015 wedding season in January with this lovely couple in what was a classic Annapolis naval wedding followed by an elegant reception at the Loews Hotel.
