Kellie and Edward’s wedding day was a slice of of paradise — eastern shore style! They exchanged vows on the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay’s lush, virescent lawn, traipsed through and posed for photos along the tranquil banks of the Choptank River, cruised aboard luxury boats, and danced their little hearts out inside the hotel’s extravagant ballroom. What a fun day it was!
Kellie’s florist was none other but her own mom, who had worked previously as a florist in many weddings and events. Believe it or not, all of the flowers were artificial! Not only did they brighten the day but they also serve as a special, long-lasting keepsake.
Kellie and Edward first met when they were in middle school (in the lunch line to be exact) and remained close friends up through their high school years until their fondness for one another blossomed into everlasting love.
Kellie says, “We loved our venue because we spent many summers there on vacation with Edward’s family boating, roasting s’mores and catching crabs on the docks. The tree in many of our pictures was the tree we carved our initials in many years ago. In fact, the first time I visited the Hyatt I said that I wanted to be married there.”
The look in Kellie and Edward’s eyes every time they caught sight of one another was so powerful and moving.
The bridal party was dressed to impress! We loved Kellie’s bridesmaids’ full-length, pale rose Chiffon and Charmeuse dresses from David’s Bridal which were beautifully accentuated with satin sashes. Edward and his boys sported light and airy summer suits from Men’s Wearhouse. Their ties were picked to match the bridesmaids dresses. Kellie’s GORGEOUS 1940s-esque, duchess silk dress is from designer Anne Barge. She tried the dress on at Nordstrom and instantly knew that it was the dress for her. She liked how simple and classic it was and also how well it accentuated her curves. She made several custom alternations to the dress to make it her own such as adding sparkles under the bust line and making the straps halter style. We also loved the rich ivory color, which brought out her tan!
The newlyweds share a kiss beside after slicing into their incredible three-tier strawberry shortcake by Bay Country Bakery! There were so many unique decorations throughout the reception room, including custom boat-themed napkins and an adorable silver starfish holder to display them!
One of Kellie’s favorite moments of the night was when the DJ (D&J DJ Service) played Armenian music and her family (including her 92 year-old grandmother) got up to dance!
