Michelle and Dan, like many couples in the spring of 2020, had to completely change their wedding plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Originally they were to get married at the US Naval Academy with 225 guests! But love is unstoppable and so was this wedding!
With the wedding rethought, this couple chose to have a very intimate micro-ceremony at the St. Louis Parish Catholic Church in Clarksville, Maryland.
Michelle and her mother wore dresses made of the same beautiful white lace. The bride’s bouquet was filled with white roses and blue hydrangea and tucked inside was her father’s wedding band. After getting dressed at her parents home, the bride and her father left for the small church in the back of a white Rolls Royce.
Inside the church Dan and his best man waited for the bride to enter. With less than 10 guests, the church was quiet when Michelle walked in holding her father’s arm. The couple smiled warmly at each other upon making eye contact. Their ceremony was simple and that’s all they needed. Sealed with a kiss at the alter, Michelle and Dan were husband and wife.
The times may be different, but the light still shined beautifully through the stained glass windows of the church, allowing us to capture some very lovely photos of the newlyweds. To celebrate their union, Michelle and Dan had a champagne toast back at their Rolls Royce before boarding their fancy ride and heading home. But the day wasn’t over yet!
Remember those 225 guests Michelle and Dan were supposed to have at their original wedding? Well, they all still showed up in a car caravan! It was amazing! The bride and groom stood along the side of the road, well-wishers drove by, cars were decorated with tinsel and signs, balloons and people poking out of sun roofs. “Congratulations!” people yelled and waved as they honked their horns. All the cars then turned around and did a second pass on the road, this time stopping momentarily to receive a wedding cupcake. We think this car-caravan-wedding-parade-thing, should be something to stay. What a fun and memorable time all the participants of this wedding had!
The world may have stopped for now, but love is unstoppable!
