When planing your wedding day, you chose the perfect dress, the theme for the day, the music, the food, the venue and of course, the photographer! Your photographer is who will be by your side the entire day, the person that captures all that you planned, the details, the story. You’ve most likely gone through the photographer’s website and looked at their work, seen other peoples wedding photos and thought, “wow, that’s beautiful, I like their style. You’re hired!” Your photographer is your moment capturer, your personal paparazzi, they snap from their point of view and document what they are seeing. Some photographers love to be edgy and artsy, some love candids, others come with a photo journalistic approach.
However, did you know that there’s an entire after process to your photos? After your photographer grabs all the angles and all the shots and tries to recreate those Pinterest poses you pinned, it’s then time to edit your photos. Hamilton Photography is a boutique Wedding Photography Studio and we like to give you a timeless look to your photos, but there are variations in color and light that we offer for editing styles.
As an editor, I didn’t attend your event. I see your event through the eyes of the photographer. I don’t know what song you danced to, or what was said in the best man’s speech that made you crack up laughing. All I see is the procession of images telling me the story of your day. Believe me, I can get a lot of information from this picture book, I know when grandma has given you something special and whispered words of advice in your ear, or when dad gets emotional seeing his little girl in her gown. I can even tell when the drinks start kicking in! I form my own story, based off of the photos and in a virtual way, I’ve attended your wedding.
From here, I can edit photos based off of the vibe of the day, maybe it was a fresh spring day and the bride wore pink, I may go with a light and airy feel to the photos ambiance. Perhaps it was a deep strong-skied October day, and I could then edit the photos with a deep moody feel.
Small nuances in color, light and shadow can make a big impact in how your photos are developed. You’ve detailed everything else about your day, why not the photo editing style?
Natural Light Edits: Are a true-to-life edit. We try to keep the colors and lighting as close to what the naked eye would see.
Light & Airy Edits: Give your photos a whimsical soft-creamy look, with highlights being bright and light.
Dark & Moody Edits: We go for a a contrast between the shadows and lights. The overall look brings out lots of deep rich tones.
We love beautiful timeless photography. You let us know, what your timeless style is and we’ll take care of the rest.
