Lindsay and Brian’s wedding was a true labor of love. After having to postpone their wedding for over a year due to the COVID lockdown, they wanted to have a big party where everyone danced, laughed, talked loudly and had a great time! They felt like this party was long overdue, after the year we all had!

Their wedding was held at The Oaks Waterfront Inn in St. Michael’s Maryland. An enchanting location on Maryland’s eastern shore, tucked back into 10 acres on a cove along the Chesapeake Bay. 

Lindsay ‘s wedding dress was beautiful with a sleeveless floral-lace top, button up back and an adorable polka dot lace veil. Her bridesmaids wore pink floral gowns, each unique! All the ladies carried beautiful bouquets filled with pink and white roses and fresh greenery. Brian and his entourage of groomsmen wore tan vested-suits paired with pink ties that matched the pinks of the ladies.

Once our bride and groom were dressed, Brian waited along the beautiful winding brick walkway, back turned, eyes closed. Lindsay crept up behind him, tapped him on his shoulder and he turned to see her. She was gorgeous! Brian was smitten as Lindsay smiled tenderly at him. These two had waited so long for this moment and it was absolutely perfect.

We headed off onto the Oaks grounds to take some pre-ceremony photos, while guests settled into the outdoor seating area. A painter positioned herself along the horizon of the ceremony and began to paint the scene, making sure to include the two beautiful Oak Trees prominently standing above the ceremony space.

Lindsay and her father stood arm-in-arm on the Oaks white bridge then proceeded to enter into the summer outdoor cathedral. Between the two oak trees was decorated with sashes of pink and white and flowers clung to the posts. Lindsay and Brian spoke their personalized vows, and with their 5 year-old black lab Winston by their side, became husband and wife. Although their two rescue kitties, Oscar, an orange tabby & eKaterina, a Norwegian Forest cat, weren’t able to attend, they were a part of their day as well.

After the ceremony guests gathered for cocktails on the patio at the Inn, while we took the opportunity to take some more photos. The sky was threatening to storm, so we quickly got the photos, before Lindsay and Brian headed into their reception.

Having so much extra time due to the COVID postponement, gave Lindsay and Brian the ability to add many unique personalized touches to their wedding day, such as the ring bearer’s stitched pillow, the personalized cocktail/ dinner napkins, a hand-painted guestbook with a cartoon versions of Lindsay and Brian in their wedding attire with all of their pets, wedding photos of parents, cake topper and corn hole boards. Lindsay’s mother spent over 6 months hand pressing flowers and casting them in resin to create what became their table numbers! Also, with their wedding being so near the 4th of July, Lindsay incorporated red, white and blue details, as well as Maryland and Chesapeake Bay themes. Guests at this wedding were given special goodie bags filled with local favorites; Fisher’s popcorn, Berger cookies, mini bottles from Lyon Distillery and Utz chips! The bags were adorably decorated with crab tissue paper, a handmade brochure with things to do and places to go in the local area and a tag saying “Cheers to the Wed, White and Blue.” What amazing details and unique touches these two had!

The day turned out to be everything this couple could have hoped for. People were happy, dancing, having fun, forgetting about the dark clouds that had gathered. Then suddenly the sky opened up, a storm blew in across the bay, surrounded this celebration with energy and left us with a beautiful double rainbow. Lindsay and Brian danced in the rain beneath the rainbow, carefree and happy. Mother nature wanted to add some details to this wedding day too.
